10 March 2016 by , No Comments

At InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas, the Innovations Showcase will return after a successful debut in Orlando. This area of the expo floor was developed for both startups and companies new to the AV industry to introduce themselves to the InfoComm audience. In addition to demonstrating their solutions to attendees, the 20 selected companies compete for awards for best innovation. At the 2015 Innovations Showcase, Collaboration Squared took home the award of $10,000 and a booth  on the main expo floor for the 2016 show. We caught up with Collaboration Squared’s CEO Daryl Hutchings to learn about his first experience at  InfoComm.

Collaboration Squared is a global conferencing and collaboration service provider.  At InfoComm 2015, we introduced Ubiety, our cloud collaboration platform that enables interoperability between videoconferencing, web collaboration and phone conferencing.

What led you to get involved with InfoComm last year?

We got involved through Carol Zelkin with the IMCCA. While exhibiting at Enterprise Connect, we met with InfoComm and they thought we’d be a good fit for the Innovations Showcase.

What was your experience like in the Innovations Showcase?

We had a really positive experience at InfoComm 2015. It was really busy and the Innovations Showcase was positioned in a great spot where people could walk through. We had really good traffic of qualified people who were interested in video collaboration.  It was exciting to be named InfoComm’s Innovations Showcase winner last year out of 20 excellent companies.

What advice would you give companies participating in the Innovations Showcase this year?

Come prepared. When you get your opportunity for your presentation, make the most of it and keep it visual and brief.

What has Collaboration Squared been working on since last year?

Last year we launched our video collaboration solution Ubiety. We’ve been growing our customers since our successful launch and exposure at Enterprise Connect and InfoComm. We’re really proud to have recently welcomed NASA, The Guardian and Papa John’s as clients.

What are your plans for InfoComm 2016?

As the winner of the Innovations Showcase last year, we were awarded $10,000 and a booth on the main floor. We’re utilizing the money for both marketing and the show. This year we’re excited to showcase the evolution of Ubiety by demonstrating the hybrid cloud solution.
